Who are Baxter Fensham?

We are a company of fee based Lifestyle Financial Planners and Wealth Managers. The company was founded in 1996 and is proud of its achievements in delivering innovative financial planning solutions to clients who are serious about their financial planning futures. We are supporters and advocates of the Institute of Financial Planning and its methodologies. The business is headed up by directors who have been awarded licences to practice Certified Financial Planning (CFP) by the Institute and as such are part of a select group of approximately 706 professionals in the UK today.

How do you Charge?

We believe passionately that the only way to provide genuinely impartial planning advice is to charge the client fees for the work that is undertaken. This removes the necessity of having to rely on commission payments from third party providers and the well documented problems that are associated with this approach. As such we are a fee based practice. If commissions are available on financial products the client has the choice as to whether on not they wish us to take commission and if this is the case then any commissions received are offset against fees charged.

Where are you Based and What Geographical Areas do you Cover?

Our head office is based in Leeds and this is where two of the three directors, Robert and Simon, work from. It is the nerve centre of operations and all administrative and managerial functions are carried out here. We have a satellite office in the beautiful Shelsley Valley in Worcestershire and this is where the third director Nick is based and works from. There are no specific geographical areas that we do not cover, it is more a case of ensuring that the clients we deal with are individuals or businesses that we can forge a long term relationship with and that we can add value to. If this is the case we do not believe that geographical location should hinder that relationship especially considering the communications technology that exists today.

If I Want to Speak to you will you Charge me for the First Consultation?

The first consultation is designed to establish whether or not we believe we will be able to help you and to see if both parties believe that a long term business relationship is possible. Prior to the meeting we will have requested some information about your circumstances and the areas that you require help with. At the meeting we will demonstrate to you the role that we play for our clients and this will allow you to evaluate whether or not what we do is something that you feel will benefit you long term. If at the end of this discussion both parties agree that there is a relationship to be developed we begin to look at your affairs in more detail. If this is the case then an invoice will be issued to you for the time spent at the meeting talking specifically about your affairs. However If at the end of the initial discussion either party feels that the relationship will not work then we shake hands, part as friends and no fees will be charged for any part of the meeting.

I Live with my Partner. Should both of us be Present at the First Meeting?

Yes. We believe that the selection of your lifestyle financial planner is a very important decision and one that you both need to be comfortable with.
